Stake Technology, Toronto, Canada, has entered into an acquisition agreement with Opta Food Ingredients, Bedford, MA. Plans call for Opta to become a wholly owned Stake subsidiary, with existing management continuing to operate the company. The proposed purchase price for all of Opta’s outstanding shares and share equivalents was approximately $28 million.
